School Based Services

School services are provided on-site at several schools throughout the region. Treatment modalities utilized include individual therapy, group therapy, and day-treatment programming. Day treatment is the most intensive of the non-residential services and usually continues over a longer period of time. Children typically remain in this program for at least one full school year, although there are programs designed for briefer lengths of participation.

The most common day treatment model is a service that provides an integrated set of intensive therapeutic services with family intervention and support services involving a child for at least two hours a day, two days a week up to five hours a day, five days a week. The ultimate goal of these programs is to promote success within the educational environment while addressing the mental health needs of seriously emotionally disturbed children and youth.

Primary focus includes, but is not limited to, socialization skills, conflict resolution skills, anger management, vocational skills, promoting healthy self-esteem, and behavior modification with a focus on promoting success thorough the use of positive reinforcement procedures.
